Abstract:
This downloadable data layer displays ungeneralized 5-digit postal code polygons in the US and its territories from HERE (formerly Navteq). Polygonal water features greater than 5 square kilometers are represented as "water holes" in the layer. This SEGS dataset was procured for EPA through the Office of Environmental Information (OEI).
Purpose:
The core mission of Shared Enterprise Geodata and Services (SEGS) is to provide a single point of ownership for geospatial datasets that are national in extent and of general use to all EPA users and to make those datasets available through channels that best meet user needs.

FGDC Process Steps include full descriptions of each Data Source Used and Produced as long as the value of Process Step's Source Citation Used (srcused) and Source Citation Produced (srcprod) metadata element match a Data Source Citation (srccitea) metadata element value. All ESRI metdata elements supported except for Binary elements used to include thumbnail image. Includes ESRI Geoprocessing History, ESRI Feature Terms, ESRI Geometric Network, ESRI Subtype, ESRI Relationship Class, ESRI Topology, and ESRI Raster elements. Topology rules are named and described as shown on the ESRI topology_rules_poster.pdf included with ArcGIS software.
